Common University Entrance Test eligiblity

The eligibility criteria for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) can vary depending on the state or university conducting the exam. However, there are some general eligibility requirements that candidates must meet to appear for the exam. Here are some of the common eligibility criteria for the CUET:

  1. Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens or have the status of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).

  2. Age Limit: There is usually no upper age limit for appearing in the CUET. However, candidates must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission.

  3. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed or be appearing in the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The minimum aggregate marks required in these subjects can vary from state to state, but it is usually around 50% for general category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates.

  4. Domicile: Some states may have a domicile requirement, which means that candidates must be residents of the state or have studied in the state for a certain number of years to be eligible for the exam.

  5. Reservation: Candidates belonging to certain reserved categories (such as SC/ST/OBC) may be eligible for relaxation in the minimum aggregate marks or age limit.

Candidates need to check the specific eligibility criteria for the CUET in their state or university before applying for the exam. They should also ensure that they have all the required documents (such as mark sheets, certificates, and identity proof) ready before filling the application form.
